Fangchengbao will officially launch the Tai 9 in the fourth quarter of 2026, following the model’s debut at the Chengdu Motor Show. Positioned as the flagship of the Tai series, the Tai 9 is a large plug-in hybrid SUV with five-, six- and seven-seat configurations. It uses sixth-generation DM-i hybrid technology and has a 310 km WLTC pure-electric range.

The Fangchengbao Tai 9 has a boxy body design with a full-width ring-shaped front light strip around the brand logo, a silver lower skid plate, an active grille and a roof-mounted lidar unit. The side profile uses a floating-roof treatment and body lines similar to the Tai 7.

The rear of the Fangchengbao Tai 9 uses a split tailgate, model-specific taillights, a roof spoiler with an integrated high-mounted brake light and a concealed rear wiper.

The Fangchengbao Tai 9 has a unibody construction, DiSus-P Ultra intelligent hydraulic suspension and rear-wheel steering as standard. The chassis is intended for urban driving and light off-road use.

What powertrain and range does the Tai 9 have?
The Fangchengbao Tai 9 uses a plug-in hybrid all-wheel-drive system combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with front and rear electric motors. The engine produces 115 kW, while the two motors deliver a combined 400 kW. A 66.48 kWh battery provides 310 km of WLTC electric range. With a full tank and full charge, the claimed combined range exceeds 1,600 km.
