Customer Request
A customer in Ghana needed five brand-new HOWO 371 dump trucks for a defined operating scenario and budget. The buyer had not yet finalised the technical configuration and needed clear guidance on the difference between new and refurbished components. SauriVehicle was asked to identify a direct manufacturer, confirm a workable specification, coordinate production and inspection, and manage the China-side export and shipping process.
What We Checked
The SauriVehicle team flew across China to Jinan, Shandong, for a five-day sourcing trip and visited eight suppliers in person. Each supplier was reviewed against the buyer's requirement before a final manufacturer was selected.
- Manufacturing scale and current production capacity
- Production schedule and delivery timing
- Engineering team and ability to configure the trucks for the buyer's use
- Whether the supplier was the direct manufacturer
- New versus refurbished components in the proposed build
- Export-licence responsibility and any additional charges
We assessed the engine inspection and repair process, including replacement of the four-piece kit: cylinder liner, piston, piston rings and piston pin. We reviewed the workmanship and process controls used for the dump truck's electrical system. We also assessed the exterior painting and waxing processes used before delivery.
After production, SauriVehicle arranged an inspection by a professional engineer to check the completed trucks against the agreed contract specification.
What We Found
The supplier visits showed meaningful differences in factory scale, production scheduling, engineering support and the way specifications were presented. The buyer also needed several rounds of explanation before the required configuration and the distinction between new and refurbished parts was clear. The selected supplier was confirmed as the direct manufacturer and agreed to provide the export licence without additional hidden charges.
Decision & Result
SauriVehicle worked with the buyer and the manufacturer's engineers to define a configuration suited to the intended use while remaining within budget. The approved specification was written into the purchase contract and used as the production basis for all five HOWO 371 dump trucks. Once production was complete, a professional engineer checked the trucks against the contracted specification. SauriVehicle then coordinated customs declaration, export documentation and sea freight from Lianyungang, China, to Tema Port, Ghana.
Buyer Outcome
All five brand-new HOWO 371 dump trucks were shipped from Lianyungang to Tema Port. The customer received and signed for the trucks in Ghana, completing the procurement, production-verification and export-shipping assignment.
