The Deepal S07 Lidar Edition will launch on September 28. The electric SUV adds a roof-mounted lidar unit and driver-assistance functions for urban roads, highways and parking. It also has a 725 km CLTC range, an 800V charging platform and adaptive suspension.

Lidar assistance covers three driving scenarios
The S07 retains the current model’s closed front grille and narrow headlamps. Its lidar-based driver-assistance system covers three frequently used scenarios:
- Urban navigation assistance can handle roundabouts, unprotected left turns, narrow-road encounters and mixed pedestrian-and-vehicle traffic.
- Highway navigation assistance supports automated ramp entry and exit, lane changes and speed adjustment.
- Parking assistance covers very narrow spaces, dead ends and spaces beside walls, with remote parking, exit-and-park and tracked reverse functions.
The vehicle also has 24 active-safety functions. These include automatic emergency braking for irregular obstacles through an over-the-air update, accelerator misapplication prevention, lateral obstacle collision prevention and road-adaptive AEB through an over-the-air update.

Cabin adds comfort and driver monitoring
The wraparound cabin has two front zero-gravity seats with massage and heating functions, while the rear seats also support heating. Deepal says 10.7 square metres of the cabin is covered with a microfiber suede-like soft material.
A camera on the A-pillar supports face login and driver-monitoring functions. It can issue alerts for fatigue, mobile-phone use and driver distraction.
