Alfa Romeo has named its new concept car Cuorerosso. The name combines the Italian words Cuore, meaning heart, and Rosso, meaning red. The concept is scheduled to debut at the Paris Motor Show, which opens on October 12, and previews a new design direction for the brand.

The teaser images show a steeply angled rear window that gives the vehicle a coupe-SUV-like profile. The rear sides use airflow-led detailing, while the lamps are arranged horizontally. These elements continue the sporting design approach associated with Alfa Romeo vehicles.

Alfa Romeo said the Cuorerosso name condenses the brand’s core spirit and is intended to evoke passion for driving.
