FAW Toyota confirmed on August 25 that the 2027 Toyota bZ5 midsize electric SUV will launch on August 26. The model-year update is expected to receive configuration changes. The current Toyota bZ5 is offered in six versions priced from RMB 129,800 to RMB 199,800, with CLTC range options of 550 km and 630 km.

What size and design does the Toyota bZ5 use?

The 2027 Toyota bZ5 is expected to retain the current vehicle’s design, including a closed front grille, a star-ring light strip and boomerang-shaped light units. A full-width rear light strip echoes the front design.

The Toyota bZ5 cabin has a slim digital instrument display and a 15.6-inch central screen. Its 1.44-square-meter panoramic glass roof uses Low-E and Ag2 coatings, with claimed ultraviolet and infrared blocking rates of 99.98% and 99.3%, respectively.

The Toyota bZ5 uses the Toyota Pilot driver-assistance system, combining Momenta 5.0 urban assistance with TSS. The system supports navigation-assisted driving in cities and on highways, parking assistance and more than 30 functions.

The current Toyota bZ5 uses a single electric motor producing 272 hp. Its lithium iron phosphate batteries are supplied by FinDreams Power. The 65.28 kWh battery corresponds to a 550 km CLTC range, while the 73.98 kWh battery corresponds to a 630 km CLTC range.
