Stelato V8 preorders will open on September 28. The first MPV from the brand is a seven-seat model jointly developed by BAIC and Huawei, with battery-electric and range-extender powertrains. It offers up to 830 km of CLTC range in battery-electric form.

Exterior dimensions and sensing hardware

The V8 has a streamlined body with a stated drag coefficient of 0.226. Its front light strip is nearly two metres long and is paired with split headlamps, while a full-width rear light completes the design.

Family access and cargo features

The V8 uses several features intended to make entry, seating and cargo loading easier:

  • Second-row seats can rotate electrically by 45 degrees toward the open door.
  • A 340 mm grab handle is mounted on the B-pillar.
  • Air suspension can lower the floor height to 380 mm.
  • Powered armrests fold down when a door opens and fold up when the seat reclines, with anti-pinch protection.

Cargo capacity is 674 litres with all three rows in use. Stelato says the compartment can hold ten 20-inch suitcases while carrying seven occupants, and a stroller can be loaded without folding. Folding the third row increases capacity to 1,552 litres.

Battery-electric and range-extender versions

The battery-electric V8 uses an 800V platform, Huawei’s Giant Whale battery platform and a 120 kWh battery pack. The rear-wheel-drive version has a 227 kW motor and a 830 km CLTC range. The all-wheel-drive version has 387 kW of combined output and a 775 km CLTC range.

The range-extender version uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged range extender rated at 118 kW. Battery options are 56 kWh and 75.4 kWh, while the listed WLTC electric-only ranges are 260 km, 275 km and 339 km. The V8 also uses Huawei’s Tuling platform and air suspension, and its cabin runs HarmonyOS.
